Hawzah News Agency- Hojatoleslam Sheikh Ahmad Qabalan, Lebanon's distinguished Jaafari mufti, warned in his Friday prayer sermon at the Imam Hussein (AS) Mosque in Burj al-Barajneh that the Middle East is facing its most dangerous "American-Zionist-European" sedition.
He stated that the Islamic world must take a clear and grand stance against this sedition project, which Washington is directing in behind-the-scenes coordination with Tel Aviv and Brussels to pit Islamic countries against one another and ignite an all-out war that no one will be able to extinguish—ultimately leading to eternal destruction.
Saudi Arabia Must Assume 'Elder Brother' Role
Addressing Saudi Arabia's leadership, Mufti Qabalan said: "The Hijaz, the land of the Two Holy Mosques, the cradle of prophethood, and the site of worship—these special values require that Saudi Arabia play the role of the 'true father' of Quranic relations; that is, the role of 'elder brother' to prevent any sedition and curb any oppressive international or regional domination."
He added: "This is what we ask of Saudi Arabia, and based on Quranic logic, it is a vital necessity. Iran, Turkey, Pakistan, Egypt, Iraq, Yemen, Syria, and Lebanon must unite to form an integrated alliance against American-Zionist domination in the Middle East. The main foundation of this alliance must be the 'interests of Arabs and Muslims.' If this Islamic partnership does not take shape, its alternative will be nothing but disaster, hostility, war, and destruction that will engulf not just one country but the heart of the entire Arab and Islamic world."
Qabalan warned that Washington, by seizing the Middle East and turning it into a network of military bases, seeks to plunder energy, economy, and financial resources to prevent Islamic countries from achieving unity and a leading role in the international system.
'The Moment for Action Is Now'
The Lebanese mufti noted that the current moment is highly suitable for action, especially as America, after its war with Iran, faces its weakest historical position and a structural paralysis in strategic power. He said the solution is to create a regional security system comprising Arab and Islamic countries, warning that negligence at this moment could be catastrophic, as "now is the time for survival and power."
'Lebanon's Resistance Greatest Model of Defeating Israel'
Qabalan stated: "I say to the Arabs with sincerity and love: In the contemporary history of Arabs and Islamic countries, no power has matched the popular power of Lebanon against the American-Zionist project. Lebanon's resistance has been the greatest model of defeating Israel in the past half-century, especially in the recent war (after Al-Aqsa Storm). Washington has tried since 2006 to destabilize Palestine and now seeks to eliminate Lebanon and its resistance capability to implement its plans to swallow the Middle East."
He added: "Lebanon's resistance only seeks the unity of Arabs and Muslims to protect the region against American-Zionist plots. This vital truth must be clear to all Arab and Islamic countries."
'Saudi Arabia Must Be Partner and Brother to Iran, Iraq, Egypt, Lebanon, Yemen'
Mufti Qabalan emphasized: "We ask nothing of the Arabs but partnership and true independence. Saudi Arabia must be a partner and brother to Iran, Iraq, Egypt, Lebanon, Yemen, and other Islamic countries. Our goal is to extinguish the fire of American-European-Zionist sedition in the region."
He warned: "Look at the history of these countries; colonizers today are more aggressive than before. Their target is the oil, wealth, and resources of the Persian Gulf and the Middle East—otherwise their only option is sedition, fire, and destruction. Powerful countries in the region must take a historic stance before it is too late. The presence of America and Europe in the region is a major obstacle to security, wealth, and Islamic partnership."
He stressed: "The solution is to stop the fire, not to ignite it. Yemen is also a brother and partner to Saudi Arabia and other Muslims. Instead of war, we must move toward rebuilding regional order. Remember that God says: 'The believers are but brothers, so make peace between your brothers and fear God, that you may receive mercy.'"
Warning on Lebanon's Internal Crisis
On domestic issues, Sheikh Qabalan said: "The executive branch's increasing insistence on emptying Lebanon and striking at its pillars of internal survival is horrific and shocking. In our history, there has never been a domination that did not want to function—but this time we face a domination that works against the country's interests, conditions of survival, people's necessities, and its economy."
He added: "This matter is not only about hired media and loudspeakers whose profession is creating internal rifts and sectarian seditions and pushing society toward explosion. Rather, the issue is that this executive branch has frighteningly abandoned its responsibility to provide for the poor, the principles of citizenship, the necessities of life, the possibility of living with dignity in various sectors, as well as its duty of social, livelihood, psychological, educational, and national defense stability and political covenant."
He said: "We unfortunately face a power that not only lacks the competence to manage administrative, financial, social, professional, and livelihood files, but also lacks the competence to manage this country, protect its existence, and guarantee its governance structure."
"All of this is happening amid a national collapse and a catastrophe of corruption, injustice, inflation, madness of power and ethics, and a political insistence aimed at striking the governance structure and the project of a guaranteeing state. This matter is before the president, and he is obligated to provide clear answers about these dangerous actions that threaten Lebanon's existence. We hope he has answers, because 'one who has nothing cannot give anything.'"
'Lebanon Wants a Rescue Government, Not National Suicide'
In conclusion, Sheikh Qabalan addressed "relevant officials," saying: "Lebanon wants an executive branch capable of national rescue, not national suicide. Fire surrounds us from every side, and it is absolutely not permissible to let our homeland be left amid the fire; rather, we will prevent, protect, defend, sacrifice, and—God willing—build."
